The industry has faced unprecedented challenges during the first quarter of 2020 – consumer lockdown due to Covid-19 has driven demand destruction in key petrochemical and polymer markets; March 9th saw the latest major collapse in oil price; and GDP forecasts for 2020 are now negative.
