EVA is produced by adding varying quantities of vinyl acetate monomer during the LDPE manufacturing process. The materials covered by this report are ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers that contain 9 percent or more vinyl acetate. EVA copolymers with less than 9 percent vinyl acetate (VA) have largely been commoditised and are not considered in this report. The practical upper limit is 40 percent vinyl acetate for the high pressure polyethylene process. There are copolymers made with over 40 percent vinyl acetate, but these are usually made by solution processes and are rubber-like materials unlike the plastics covered in this report. This report analyses the global market, including supply, demand and trade balance; assesses technology and provides profiles of the key technology licensors and manufacturers.
