Phenol/Acetone/Cumene (2007 Program)

The various process routes to phenol are assessed and their production economics compared. The conventional cumene-based process, Mitsui acetone recycle process, Solutia co-product free process, and Shell’s emerging phenol/acetone/MEK route are presented. Regional phenol supply/demend forecasts are also provided.
