The chemistry, process technologies and production economics for methanol manufacture are assessed and compared. Syngas production and methanol synthesis routes are reviewed for several licensors. Regional production cost estimates are provided as well as capacity and regional supply/demand balances.

Polybutylene Terephthalate (2008 Program)

The chemistry, process technology, and production economics for polybutylene terephalate (PBT) are assessed. Continuous and batch processes are compared and their production economics compared. Overviews of the major licensors’ technologies (Hitachi, Uhde Inventa-Fischer, Lurgi Zimmer) are given.
