Developments in PTA Production Technologies (2002 Program)

Chemistry, process technology, and production economics of the conventional PTA process is compared to mega-scale plants and a speculative DuPont process involving a plug flow oxidation reactor. Supply/demand forecast for PTA out to 2010 is also given.
