Chemistry, process technology and economics for isoprene production (extraction,isobutylene based routes, isopentane dehdyro, acetylene based routes,via MTBE) and isoprene derivatives (polyisoprene, SIS/SBS block copolymers, and butyl rubber) are examined. Regional supply/demand forecasts are presented.
