Recycling of Lithium-ion Batteries (2020 Program)

An assessment of currently commercial and innovative pre-commercial processes in the nascent battery recycling sector.  Examines whether the sector is likely to be dependent on tipping fees or producer responsibility transfer, or if sector can be profitable on metals basis with variation based on incoming battery mix.  Strategic outlook for battery recycling is examined in context of economic modeling, current capacity buildup, current and future battery technology, and public policy.
