Bruce Burke

Senior Vice President, Americas

Bruce Burke, a NexantECA Senior Vice President, directs NexantECA's activities in the Americas.  He has more than 40 years of technical and management experience in the energy, renewables, and petrochemical industries.  His areas of interest include technology assessment, renewable energy and chemicals, conventional petroleum refining and petrochemicals, and natural gas utilization. 

An experienced project manager, Mr. Burke has led and participated in numerous feasibility and Independent Engineer engagements for Lenders and Sponsors, including current projects for world scale ethylene, methanol, and fertilizer complexes in the United States and Latin America. 

He has supported a number of IPOs of emerging renewable technologies in the Americas and Asia, and he has served as an expert witness for plaintiffs that combined have been awarded in excess of US$500 million.  In addition to the United States, he has conducted studies for a range of developed and developing countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Haiti, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Syria, Thailand, Trinidad, Venezuela, Vietnam, and countries in Eastern Europe.  He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and began his career with Gulf Oil Corporation, followed by energy and chemical consulting with ChemSystems (from 1980), IBM (from 1998), and Nexant (from 2001).
